I cant wait to see what the future updates have in store. I work on the railroad and still come home and play this game. This game is amazing and the devs are doing a great job creating this world. I play this with keyboard and mouse. The devs are always working and bringing out patches. A lot of things could be added like showing the grades of the terrain on the map and having a positive and negative speed rate per minute guage in the engines. Can't wait to see the finished product when it happens.. New to VR and thought I'd have a look for a title to play. Quite like sim games of various types, have a couple of train sims that are okay but have always been a let down when it comes to the graphics. This game is however very pretty when it comes to the graphics, the detailing is excellent. There are a few areas that need to be worked on, it is early access after all, being the driver and the fireman for the steam train gets old very quickly for example but otherwise there is a surprising amount of polish.I read a number of reviews that bemoaned various issues with VR, but I read the Steam community pages, understood what was happening and so have not had any issues at all. What can I say, maybe as a new VR owner I read the manual and understood how to calibrate my equipment?Headset: Samsung Odyssey Plus. I love trains, Have many hours in Train Simulator, Run8 and Train Sim World, so this game\/sim had alot to live up to. It didn't disappoint. Nice graphics, excellent physics. fun gameplay. I like how the jobs, progression and money making system works.Spectacular derailments if you over do it, something you don't see in other train sims.Love the Steam Engine whistle too, best whistle in any game I have heard. Spent about 10 minutes just blowing the whistle before I even moved. Cant wait to see some more rolling stock, some meatier locomotives and multiple unit support. Very cool for an early access game, a few small bugs here and there but well worth the money. Will be interesting to see where this game\/sim goes.Looking forward to blowing the whistle and making another pile of wagons in a valley.. Version 17.10.15, and some upcoming changes: On sunday we pushed a new build to Steam with some critical bugfixes and improvements to the UI. The build is not quite in the state we wanted it to be,so we will be pushing some more fixes within the next few days. Here's a summary of some of those changes so far.Crashes:* Fix several audio-related crashes when user does not have a valid audio device.* Fix several save/load crashes, including one where resources were being loaded in the wrong context, and when streaming map data is interrupted by the user's disk.* Fix several crashes caused by screenshots being unable to be saved.* Fix crash in audio mixer* Fix crash caused by build tool selecting invalid voxel* Fix crash caused by invalid sort in Guard tool.* Fix crash when god mode fails to spawn balloon* Fix crash caused by invalid resource library loadingBugs:* fix bug causing dwarves to throw stuff through the ceiling* fix dwarves hanging on the sides of walls* fix building lamps next to walls* fix graphics bug in turret after it gets loaded* fix bug that caused dwarfs to refuse to get paid* fix misalignment between resource sprite and bounding box* ensure 2D drawings happen only once per update cycle* fix dwarf sprites not blinking when hurt.* fix logic bug causing gather tasks to fail* fix built blocks being invisibleGUI/Aesthetic* Fix some fonts, alignments and tutorial system displays* Move most items to the bottom of the screen* Add tabs for map, employee view and marker displays* draw task markers all the time, not just when task is selected.. DwarfCorp Hold your butts, it's an unstable update.: First off in this update, we got some prettier overworld rendering. Here's what the smallest possible world looks like. That gargantuan world in the center can take a while to load the first time, so it's not recommended for new players. Also in this update we got: Bug fixes of all kinds. New bugs. More bug fixes. Performance improvements (substantial) Performance improvements (minor) 100% of your daily recommended amount of dorf. The new shared overworld stuff is coming together. Right now, that means if you piss off a faction in one colony, and load another colony on that same overworld... We made a massive payment against some tech debt that will finally, after two months of refactoring, allow us to proceed with some of the things planned for the overworld. Found (and fixed!) a problem with the build process that caused old content files to be included with the game. Because of the moddable data-driven nature of the game, it went ahead and loaded them. Oops. The problem persists for Linux 64, but is fixed on Windows, Mac, and Linux 32.. 17.12.17: Hi everybody. We just pushed version 17.12.17 to Steam and itch.io. This patch is compatible with saves from 17.12.02 or later. We fixed some critical issues on Mac/Linux, solved a couple of usability/AI bugs, and started taking a crack at memory leaks and performance issues that crop up late game. Those are really the most pressing issues to solve at the moment. We’ve written a few simple tests to help us track down memory leaks and performance degradation that occurs after playing the game for a few hours, and have already found and fixed a couple of problems. One of the well known problems we hope to solve soon is the bird population explosion, which we have definitely verified is real! After a few hours birds tend to cluster in low areas with hundreds of eggs. Meanwhile, we’re hoping to get one more content update out by Christmas. Our artist has been pixelling away at various jolly creatures and resources for the candy-cane forest — the elf equivalent to the undead’s haunted forest.Changes in this version:. New Version 18.11.21: I just pushed a new version to Steam and itch.io which fixes some crashes, some of which were caused by the previous update.Changes Tweak: Add grain to the list of resources that can be blacklisted from a stockpile. Crash: fix common crash caused by dwarfs trying to get resources that are already in their inventories. (This was caused by the changes to the way stockpiles are managed.) Crash: fix rare crash during world generation. Crash: fix rare crash when 3D primitive drawer overwrites bounds of cached perlin noise texture. Crash: fix rare crash when graphics device is disposed as the sky is being generated. Crash: break up the code for rendering the world preview in the world generator so that if crashes occur there in the future error messages are more helpful for debugging. Crash: hopefully fix weird crash while pushing participants that are gambling (crash still poorly understood and can't reproduce). Bug: fix the gambling pot getting loaded twice from a save file.. Alpha Version 1.1.3 Released: We just released a new version of the alpha. This version was exclusively focusing on bugfixes (particularly fixing crash bugs), performance improvements, and balance changes. The biggest things causing crashes were memory leaks that have been patched. Here is a list of changes: It's now possible to create different sizes of the world (tiny, small, medium, large) The world no longer attempts to generate new chunks. Reduced memory usage of the overworld by ~90% Reduced memory usage of voxel chunks by ~75% Fixed memory leak in water computation Fixed memory leak when new games are created Fixed memory leak in A* planner Pausing the game doesn't pause camera motion Camera moves up out of colliding voxels Dynamic lights get erased when lamps die Fixed a crash when dwarves tried to eat in a room currently being built. Fixed a crash when loading a game with a farm Fixed gathered items being gathered by the same dwarf multiple times Fixed craft items getting built multiple times Added priorites to dwarf tasks and task pre-emption Dwarves no longer work when too sleepy Dwarves no longer fight while asleep Dwarves immediately attack enemies nearby instead of waiting to get attacked Skeletons, necromancers, and goblins no longer get hungry or tired Food replenishes much more hunger Dwarf selection box moves with the camera now Entities die when they fall outside of the world Balloon no longer gets stuck on mountains Dwarves can throw blocks 4 units to build walls now Dwarves build walls bottom to top Visibility culling more efficient and updates more often Fixed some classes' idle and swimming animations Fixed some pathfinding bugs with swimming Cliffs world is more interesting now Enemies are weaker now. More diverse company and place names[/lists]. New build 18.02.25: Hi everyone, we just added a new build to itch.io and Steam.
